Pete and Ellen have reared Meg as their own, ever since she was a baby and her parents took off. Now a teen, Meg convinces her friend Nath to come help with chores on the farm. When Nath insists on using a short cut home through the woods, Pete gets quite agitated and warns him of screams in the night, of terrors associated with the red house. Curious, Meg and Nath ignore his warnings and begin exploring, getting closer to real danger and the dark secret of the red house.

The suspense in the beginning was deafening. You are always on the edge of the seat trying to figure out what was wrong in the woods (I'll stop giving out the plot). The sudden change in the main character almost takes one for a whirlwind of a ride.

All in all though, fine acting by everyone. The different characters were well defined which makes this a great watch.

Subject: the pursuit of loneliness
this is the toughest film to have an opinion on.
it starts out great, with tremendous appeal for having all the whistles and bells of a really scary film, and very attractive and appealing charactors and a great story line, but as it tries to confront the viewer with its emotions it begins to unravel a bit, until it is nearly impossible to see it as the same film it started out as.

all in all though a very inspired event, with fine acting and direction.
